Hometown fell under Soviet rule after Germany invaded Poland in 1939

Forced into Drohobycz ghetto in 1942

Marcel, his parents and sister hid to avoid deportation to the concentration camps

Many relatives were deported and murdered at Belzac

Father bribed a guard to escape to Mlynki Szkolnikowe near hometown

Hidden by Ukrainian family with nine other Jews

Fear of being caught/Forced to hide in a hole in the ground

Liberated by the Soviet army in August 1944

Had to learn to walk again after the time in hiding

Moved to the United States in 1961
