The Soviet Union drafted father into the army in 1940/She never saw him again

1941: Deported to Transnistria (Romanian-occupied Ukraine) with her mother

A village family took them into their home/Lived there from 1942 to 1945

After liberation: return home to Romania

To escape communism, they went to a displaced persons camp in Germany

Family migrated to the united states in 1949

“I lost my childhood, father, grandparents and 26 members of my family. I am grateful that i survived and hope that it will never happen again. my revenge for Hitler is that I have 8 grandchildren from my daughters. Never again!”
