INTERNMENT SEVERAL CAMPS ADOPTION MOTHER FOUND HIM AGAIN EMIGRATION

Family was interned in camp Westerbork

1944 Bergen-Belsen concentration camp with his parents

Just before liberation: Prisoners were deported to Poland

His father died

The mother became mortally ill

Adopted by a Jewish family in the Netherlands

Mother’s health became better and she found Joseph

Both migrated to Canada

Studied theology and became rabbi at different universities,

Most recently Boston university Hillel
