”KRISTALLNACHT“. SAVED TO FRANCE. WITH HELP: IMMIGRATION TO THE US. LATE MESSAGE THAT HIS FATHER SURVIVED.

November 1938: ”Kristallnacht“ changed family’s life.

With the help of the O.S.E. Children’s Aide Society: Erwin and his younger sister were sent to France. Lived in a castle near Limoges with approximately 200 other children.

After 2 years Erwin and his sister were sponsored by Quakers to immigrate to the United States.

1941: Arrival on Ellis Island.

At the age of 25, Erwin received notification that his father had survived the Holocaust.
