1936 family converted to catholicism/convent school.

End of the 1930s: Antisemtic laws in Hungary became stricter.

Spring 1944: Germany occupied Hungary/family was interned in a jewish ghetto.

June 27th, 1944: Deportation to Auschwitz. Her sister, mother and female cousin were murdered in the gas chambers right after arrival. Her father died in Auschwitz.

Her account played an important role in documenting the murder of at least 4,200 Sinti and Roma during the night of the 2nd to 3rd of August 1944. Deported to Münchmühle/subcamp of Buchenwald concentration camp. Forced labor in the production of grenades.

March 1945: Liberated by the Americans on a death march.

Éva lost 49 family members during the Holocaust.

Was made to work as a laborer for the erection of the town Dunaújváros.

She remained silent about her experiences for 45 years. Joint plaintiff in two court proceedings against former concentration camp wardens.
Received the Order of Merit by the Federal Republic of Germany.
