FATHER FLED TO ROMANIA. HE WAS LATER DEPORTED TO SIBERIA. MOTHER, SISTER AND SHE LIVED ASSUMED FAKE IDENTITIES. LIVING IN CONSTANT FEAR. BOMB INJURED HER HAND. MANY FAMILY MEMBERS WERE MURDERED. IMMIGRATION.

Her father fled to Romania because he feared being conscripted into the soviet army. He was later deported to Siberia.

Her mother, sister and she hid under assumed identities as catholics in Poland. They always lived in fear of being discovered.

A bomb fell on the house they were living in and permanently injured Halinas hand. Her grandparents, aunts and cousins were all murdered.

Her father managed to escape Siberia and headed to Palestine. Later reunited with him in England.

She moved to the United States in 1968.
