ESCAPE. ANTISEMITISM. IN HIDING. GRANDPARENTS WERE SHOT.

1940: Family fled Paris for the south of France.

Mother died from cancer in 1941.

Quiet normal life throughout the war but did experience antisemitism. Had to move and go into hiding several times.

The Germans and their auxiliaries shot his grandparents in Dolina/southeast Poland in August 1942.

Lived in Israel for 18 years. Moved to the United States in 1989.
